today we started the class seeing the different pronunciations of the words finishing in -ure.Then, we talked about hypothetical laws that you'd like to see introduced. As a mini-grammar point, we saw the difference between don't need to and needn't; and between didn't need to and needn't have. We did a listening about Smoking (sorry, I can't upload this one on our Zona de Usuarios).

Today we've checked the pronunciation of the words finishing in -ure. We revised some colour idioms. Then, we spoke about black market and off-brand products and put into practice the verbs of the senses that are seen in Unit 7B. We also did a quick listening (p. 73).

Today we have been talking about food. We started by revising some vocabulary and continued by having a conversation about some issues related to this topic. We also listened to a news report about the problem of Binge Drinking. The last minutes of the class were devoted to hypothesising about solutions for the problem of obesity.

Good afternoon everybody,
yesterday we had a kind of special class as we celebrated the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare. We listened to a 45-minute seminar about the rythm in his poems and then, we went back to class to continue with our class. There, we talked about modern art and we listened to an interview about several pieces of modern art.

Good afternoon!
Last Wednesday we saw some examples of similes. Some people may think they are a bit old-fashioned so I chose some of the ones people still use quite frequently. We doueble-checked the so-called cleft sentences and some vocablary referred to the topics of law and lying. The last part of the class was devoted to a listening on the topic of household accidents and how to prevent them.

Today we've been revising some English prefixes. As a new grammar point, we saw the negative forms of the verb 'need' and its different uses. We also talked about hypothetical regulations that we'd like to see introduced in Spain (indeed, we had a very nice debate!).

yesterday we talked about famous liars, and occasions in which it'd be fair for some people to lie. We listened to a news report about lie-detectors for CEOs. About grammar, we saw different strategies to emphasise in English and the importance of emphasising if you want to sound natural in your speech. At the end of the class, we spoke about the difference between men and women in terms of lying.

We did a listening about the QI quiz we did last Tuesday (same page), working on a worksheet I handed out in class, which you can find on Zona de Usuarios from now. At the end of the class, we started having a look at some modals of permission, obligation and necessity.

yesterday we revised once again the formation of conditional sentences and we saw some other conditional linkers -apart from the usual 'if'-. We worked on more advanced ways to write a balanced essay (p. 118-119). In the last part of the class, we did a quiz where the answers weren't the ones we thought (p. 64).

Good evening everybody,
in today's class we have been revisig some vocabulary about technology and phones. We did a listening and a little speaking task about this topic and eventually, we revised the three types of conditionals putting a bit more emphasis on the mixed conditionals. At the end of the class we played a conversation game to practice fluency when saying conditionals.

Back to work, back to class. Yesterday we finished Unit 15 and we introduced Unit 16. We revised some useful phrases to be used in the interaction part of the speaking exam. In terms of grammar, we had a quick look at the use of the Infinitive with TO. Towards the end of the class, we started to talk about the scientific advances and we did a listening task about nanotechnology.
